Should be paid that much:
Many people don’t think of it this way but, consider the amount of money each of these star players bring to the sports that they play through merchandise and apparel sales, televised broadcasting, radio broadcasting and ticket sales. The players bring more money to their teams and their respective sports franchise than they make themselves in most cases. Without these players playing on the field or the court, fans wouldn’t come in high quantities to see a single game and/or wouldn’t spend the amount of money they do buying jerseys or items from the team. Between ticket sales, T.V. and radio contracts, advertising, and merchandise/apparel sales, professional sports is among the top most profitable businesses in the world. Due to us Americans fuelling the sports business by doing all of this, star players/athletes get paid exactly what they are worth.

Many people’s jobs benefit society in various ways. For example, a bank teller is able to professionally and safely deposit, withdraw, and handle a person’s money, firefighters risk their lives for other people because their job requires protecting and rescuing, sometimes out of volunteer work, the people of society, and police officers enforce the law and keeps people safe, unlike professional athletes. Professional athletes are paid immense amounts of money, depending on which sport they play, because they have the physical capabilities and stamina that is needed for each game. An athlete that plays a professional sport, who does not benefit others or the society in any way, is paid almost 15-20 times of what the average salary of a policeman or someone in the military is being paid because he can mindlessly entertain the public for a few hours compared to people dying and/or saving peoples live for a
