Schools need to stop suspending kids so much. Many schools today think there only option in disciplining a kid is to suspend them, they need to take a different approach when something like that happens. Some parents like when a kid gets suspended in their child's class, they think that the bad apple is out so now the class is running smoothly. Even though the kid is relieved of the situation, a baltimore school has dropped there suspension rate and it shows they they have less dropouts. These schools have seen improved grades, its wouldn't be effective because most kids want to say home, and students who get suspended more than 3 times are more likely to dropout. The child suspended most likely won't get their days work, can be completed improperly, and could use their time to sleep. Also when a child sees that a grade in that class is low they will feel like they can't ever get back up there, so they blow it off, dropping grades. Although kids do like to stay home instead of going to school, they need to be able to get help from somebody whos knows how to do that type of stuff. If we can get kids who get suspended to just stay in school but a controlled environment then i think we can resolve this problem of kids blowing off their work like that. Schools have seen improved grades when reducing their suspension rate. When a kid doesn't know how to do something in that class and doesn't get it, they don't have their teacher to ask. Although kids will be isolated and no trouble will come, they wont be able to be guided by their teacher to know how to do something. Also its not beneficial for the kid because they need to know how to do the problem correctly, also they may just ask a friend for the answers when they're at home which won't help them at all.
