Child performers have become one of the most demanding jobs nowadays. The first ever child performer was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (27th January 1756–5th December 1791) at the court of Prince-elector Maximilian III of Bavaria in Munich and the Imperial Court in Vienna and Prague on September 1762. Child performers include young actors, singers, gymnasts and dancers. According to ‘Children and Young Persons Act 1963 Chapter 37’, these children are exception to ‘1973 Convention’ concerning minimum age for admission to employment (Charles, 2011). They also may be paid for their work as long as they have permits that stated the limit of hours during employment or work. Currently, child performers are protected by a number of laws according to their country. They also seemed very sophisticated, ambitious and overjoyed to be on televisions or better known as TV. But, there is a difference in between the TV life and the real life or to be more specific, ‘reality’. In reality, child actors are not as cheerful as in the movies and child dancers are not as graceful as we see them in the TV. There are many reasons that child performers should be ban. The media press or the government should make a step to prevent this from happening. Besides, the professionals must struggle to educate the public about the problem and their effects to the world and the child itself (Parker, 2010). Nevertheless, some people saw the child performers were enjoying their job, but do they know the truth behind it? Parents also have to understand the child’s impact of being on stage.
