Teenage Criminals
Teenage criminals should be tried as an adult after they do an illegal event, or they take someone's life. When teenage criminals commit a crime, they should not be tried as a juvenile, but they should be tried as adults. (Need to put in hints at supporting detail). (Transition to 1st paragraph)
Teenage criminals should be tried as adults when they commit a crime. When a kid commits a crime, they should be tried as an adult because they have either done something illegal, or they have taken someone's life. John Bongivengo of the Lawrence County District Attorney's Office said, "My choice is to either to charge him as an adult, or don’t charge him." When someone commits homicide, they should be tried as an adult because they took someone's life for a dumb reason, and committing homicide is not a good thing. When kids don’t have to change to get out of juvey they will do the same thing as they did before they got into juvey because they had to spend a short amount of time in juvey not doing anything hard. The only thing that happens to children when they commit a crime is they go to juvenile for a short amount of time, and when their sentence is over they get out of juvey even if they haven't changed. Kids don’t have to change to get out of juvey which means that they don’t have a good enough punishment. When they have a hard punishment, they know that if they don’t change it won't be as easy to get out of prison, they won't have as good of a chance of getting parole because to get a parole they must show that they have changed in prison.
