Considering a locavore movement would give the people in our community many benefits. Today one of the main issues is shipping, shipping has caused contamination throughout communities. The community should consider organizing a locavore movement because it will come with a variety of benefits, will strengthen the community and help consume less fuel. The community can benefit from all the benefits that come with making a locavore movement. Some may argue that eating local products would not benefit us from getting enough nutrients, but eating locally would help farmers grow more local products. Eating locally will help farmers. Source E states that farmers growing local products will benefit; they will be able to get up to 75% of their organic certification cost reimbursed, and some of them can obtain crop insurance. This would help farmers to grow their local products on the farm or crop by gaining crop insurance, benefiting them to be able to grow more products. The source says, “Moreover, it would allow farmers to make a decent living while giving consumers access to healthy, fresh foods at affordable prices”. This is important because growing local products helps not only the community but also the farmers because it helps them make a decent amount of money while selling at affordable prices. Although some may claim buying locally grown products is expensive, farmers will begin selling their products for affordable and fair prices once the locavore movement begins.
