Every year there are almost 50 million college students chose to drop out of university and the rate is continuing going up. Entering college is a huge event for every high school graduates. However after getting in the university lots of students found that the college life in reality had a lot of differences with their imagination, from teaching style to relationships with classmates and roommates. Furthermore, students drop out of school for various reasons, for instance they didn’t get a satisfactory grade in the National College Entrance Examination then can’t get into the ideal college or major and they found they don’t have talent in the major and unable to fit in the college. In China there are dramatic differences between college and high school and the most significant one is teaching method. Back to high school, the teacher is the center of class and what students need to do are taking notes and remember how to solve problems with certain method. In college, however, student is the center of the class what teachers do are cultivating students' ability of critical thinking and create their own way to dealt with problems. Unlike in high school, teacher in college won’t urge students to learn therefore they themselves have to be the supervisor. At the beginning of the first semester some students just can't keep up with teachers' step because they can’t switch themselves and fit into classes immediately and get used to being self-learning. Moreover, what teachers taught in the first year is the most basic knowledge and without it they probably can’t understand following knowledge.
