If we are late, that will be our responsibility. Students should get to eat lunch off campus. If students get into an accident that could happen anywhere, no matter where you're going, does a student ever want a fresh breath of air? Furthermore, another equally important reason to give the students open lunch is to experience the freedom that they have in college. Which will give them the responsibility needed to get ready for college. Students need breaks away from school and being at school for 7 hours; students need a break from learning and need time off away from campus grounds. School can be so draining at times so there is a little break away from teachers and maybe your friends would be terrific. Through open campus lunches, students are granted more independence and responsibility over their schedules, and an open campus can encourage students to develop life skills like how to manage time, money, and make healthy dietary decisions on their own. Every senior should be able to eat food off campus. Getting lunch outside of campus also exposes students to a huge variety of responsibilities. West Side High School has off campus lunch and the students love it and more students are showing up to school and being way more responsible in their decisions. This has made a huge impact on the students that get to go eat off campus. The students there are thriving with off campus
