Judaism is one of the oldest religions in the world that still exists today. Judaism began in the Middle East around 2000 B.C.E. by Abraham. Abraham, a Hebrew man, spread the central idea of the Jewish faith: that there is only one God. The monotheistic religion believed that God will protect and love them forever. There are minor differences between the religion of Jews and Christians, Christianity was first the religion of Judaism. The Tanakh is Jewish Bible that consists of the same books as the Christian Old Testament, although in a slightly different order and with other minor differences. The Tanakh should not be referred to as the "Old Testament" in the context of Judaism, however, as the term implies acceptance of the "New Testament." Jews believe that God promised to care for the Jewish people because they are the chosen ones. Jews call this the covenant, they will live a good life in return for God’s promise.
