Martin Luther was the father of The Age of Reformation that took place during the years 1517-1648 (Shelley p235). The Age of Reformation was the birth of Protestantism. This particular reformation gave way for a new foundational teaching and it transformed Christianity. The major traditions of the Reformation were Roman Catholicism, Medieval Christianity, and Eastern Orthodoxy (Shelley p244). The spark that ignited the Reformation was the propositions Luther posted.
