What would you do if a German watch maker was mistreating an old clock mender? Well in the Hiding Place, Mr. Ten Boom was faced with this very decision. We all agree that Otto was beating Christoffels but while some people believe Mr. Ten Boom shouldn’t have let him stay, others believe that Mr. Ten Boom should have let Otto stay. Mr. Ten Boom should not have let Otto stay to work at the Beje for three reasons Otto was turning Christoffels job into a burden, Otto was not trustable, and Otto was despising the Christians at the Beje. Ten Boom should not have let Otto stay to work at the Beje was consequently that Otto despised Christians. Otto didn’t believe in God. Otto called the Bible, “The Jew’s Book of Lies”. Finally, Otto hated it when Mr. Ten Boom recited the “Jew’s Book of Lies.” Many people will argue stating that Mr. Ten Boom should have let Otto stay to work at the Beje. They will claim that the Booms could have taught Otto about God and Christ. Sadly, this is not persuasive; Otto was stubborn as a mule and would refuse to listen to Mr. Ten Boom recite the Bible. Also People will claim that Otto would have been a ton of help around the Beje. Well this is also false, because Mr. Ten Boom had other workers around the house and soon even Corrie would be helping too. In conclusion, neither of these proofs- Being that they could teach Otto about God and Christ and that Otto would be a ton of help around the Beje- are any reasons as to why Mr. Ten Boom should let Otto stay to work at the Beje. Therefore Mr. Ten Boom should not have let Otto stay to work at the Beje for three reasons Otto was turning Christoffels job into a burden, Otto was not trustable, and Otto was despising the Christians at the
