Factories shouldn’t burn fossil fuels. This is an important issue because the world is getting hotter because of global warming, and burning fossil fuels is the main cause. Despite this, factories burn energy very efficiently. Factories shouldn’t burn fossil fuels because it will cause global temperatures to increase, ice caps to melt, and will heat the world to the Early Eocene Period.
Burning fossil fuels causes global temperatures to increase. By 2300, scientists estimate that global temperatures will increase on an average of 46.4 degrees fahrenheit. (8 degrees celsius). According to research done by Canadian scientists, if we use all of Earth’s fossil fuel resources, 5 trillion metric tons of carbon will be added to the atmosphere. If what scientists say is going to become a reality, greenhouse gasses will transform the world into a place where many animals will be extinct, food will be limited, and some parts of the world will be uninhabitable for humans. Since the global temperature rose 8 degrees, officials

In the Arctic, average temperatures will rise by 30.6 degrees fahrenheit. (17 degrees celsius) This also means that many Arctic animals are losing their environment to humans. Polar Bears, Seals, Penguins, Snowy Owls, and Arctic Hares might be in danger of becoming endangered, or even worse extinct because we are using way too many fossil fuels. When ice caps in the Arctic are melted, it causes an increase in sea water levels, which can cause more floods and tsunamis. Most of the Earth’s freshwater is located in the glaciers and ice in the Arctic. Once we melt all of the ice, we won’t have any more freshwater on Earth. Precipitation, or rain will quadruple in the tropical regions of the world because of extra water being added to our environment. If we can control the amount of ice we’re melting, we can save many animals in the Arctic and prevent floods and
