In the book Night, there were three father son relationships. Eliezer and Chlomo, Rabbi Eliahou and his son, and Meir and his father. We know the most about Eliezer and Chlomo, because we have been following them since the beginning of the story, and the other two have just recently been introduced. They are all noticeably different, but also show some similarities. Eliezer and Chlomo and Rabbi Eliahou and his son share some similarities.
Henry David Thoreau wrote the essay “Civil Disobedience” to inspire people, just like Chris, to challenge laws that they feel are unjust. Chris is faced with the choice of rafting down a river without a permit and breaking the law, or complying with regulations he feels are limiting his freedom. The act of rafting down the river without a permit demonstrates how the new, more authentic Chris does what he wants, not what society wants him to do because the “government is best which governs least” (Thoreau, Civil Disobedience, 388). Chris continues to break the laws he feels are unjust and quits his job because it requires him to wear socks, a policy he believes does not affect his productivity.

Civil Disobedience is an effective, selfacknowledged denial to obey certain laws, requirements and orders of the government or an occupying worldwide power. Around in 1846 a man named Henry David Thoreau wrote an essay over Civil Disobedience. He wrote this while he sent the night in jail because he had failed to pay 6 years worth of delinquent poll taxes(Resistance to Civil Government) . He would bicker with the people saying he couldn’t pay the funds that helped to assist the US government 's war with Mexico, nor could he pay a government that still allowed slavery in its Southern states.
Disobedience is an essential characteristic in this world because without it, no social progress is made. Disobedience can be viewed in a very complex manner because it is in some cases, an unhonorable and disgraceful characteristic, however, Wilde describes disobedience as an honorable attribute for someone to have when social progress is made.. It is certain that disobedience could be used in context for a person’s life. Meaning, most people experience at least some sort of disobedient action as they grow up. The term disobedience means the act of not listening and end up doing the opposite of what you have been told not to do. It is humanly impossible to be perfect in every single way.
