In the book The Outsiders, by S.E Hinton, is a book about a life of a Greaser who lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma. One of the characters, Dallas Winston is wild because he’s actions are wild, and reckless. He also expresses his wildness by his looks, Dallas’s feelings can make him do wild things. Also others reaction to him.

Ponyboy pointed out how Dallas looks like on page ten. “His hair was almost white it was so blond, and he didn’t like haircuts, or hair oil either so it fell over his forehead in wisps and kicked out in the back in tufts and curled behind his ear and along the nape of his neck” . This quote suggests that Dally is wild because he most likely has long hair giving off the wild feeling. Ponyboy also pointed out “”He had an elfish face, with high cheekbone, and animal teeth, and ears like lynx”. Pony compared Dally to wild animals. “His eyes were blue, blazing ice, cold with hatred of the whole world..”” if he hates the whole world he wouldn’t really care about the rules and break them, and do whatever he wants. “She gave him a incredulous look; then she threw her Coke in his face. “That might cool you off, greaser. After you wash your mouth and learn to talk and act decent, I might cool off, too”. That quote on page 24 is Cherry’s reaction to Dallas. She points out that he doesn’t act or talk decently. Wild people don’t really act or talk decently. Therefore Dally is a stereotypical wild person when it comes to talking and acting decently. “The other one turned around and watched us “That’s the greaser that jockeys for the Slash J sometime,” she said as if we couldn’t hear her,” Dally probably doesn't have a license to be a jockey, and if he did it probably got taken away by the police because he’s been in jail all this time. Dally might be doing this race thing illegally. Even the other characters in the book realize that Dally is a
