Life and Works of William Blake William Blake, an English poet who is recognized for his distinctive views is widely famous even today for his creativity and expressiveness. He is famous for how he perceived the world and the visions he had as a child that mirrored his work throughout his life. Most of his writings parallel his life as well as what he experienced as an adolescence growing up as an adult (William Blake Biography). Even today, many writers could not parallel the works that Blake has created throughout his life.

He did not have to pay to go to this school but needed the required materials for him to work there. While a student there, he rebelled against the president, Joshua Reynolds and his attitude towards art. Reynolds made fun of how Blake believed in, “general truth” and “general beauty” by saying how the “disposition to abstractions, to generalizing and classification, is the great glory of the human mind” (William Blake Biography). By challenging Reynolds in this kerfuffle, Blake viewed the Classical precision as his early influence. With his brothers passing, it opened up a door to his spirituality which influenced him greatly in his work (Gilchrist 25). With his loss, he experienced a vision of his brother ascending to Heaven. In addition, he also experienced a new source of printing his art. It involved using liquid to acid before having the plate being printed. He called it, “Illuminated Printing” and this helped him become his own printer and compositor. With the tragic event that occurred in Blake’s life, it brought him a new vision of God and it as well influenced his collections of the Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience
