This novel is about is a family will so many unfortunate events going on in their lives. All they want to do is be there for their very ill mother and make sure her death is peaceful. The family had many things going on in their personal lives and they are putting it before their mother. In my opinion William Faulkner wanted to tell the story of a reality family trying to deal and work through death. “Faulkner’s own compassion became brilliant, powerful, and unabashedly moving” (Sundquist). In this novel the Bundren children made a promise to their mother to lay her to rest peacefully. As they go through this tough journey the reader finds out a lot of issues this dysfunctional family has.

Having point of views for all characters will give you every side of the situation that has happened. If you have these details it will allow you to know exactly what is going on. Now that the reader has the entire story instead of having half the story you can understand it completely. You can see the tragedies through the characters’ eyes and go through and can sort of live their life for a little while. When I was reading this story I felt like I was stepping into each character’s shoes and being able to experience the ordeal in this book and I was also able to be up close and personal. Reading things from a different perspective will not bore the reader and the reader can use their imagination and create the scenery and how people are acting in this time in their head and they can really jump into the story. Some disadvantages with many point of view stories are some readers might get confused and restless because there are so many sides to the story we have to keep up
