A I definitely made the right choice choosing this book, I really liked it. I heard so much about it so I was very curious to find out why Lord of the Flies was such a renowned book. I loved the fact that the novel can be read in a variety of ways, with different lessons to be learned. B I totally agree with the review above, because she perfectly explains the beauty of the book. A book that on the surface seems innocent but is filled with hidden hints and messages, discussing a lot of subjects and themes. They recognize the evil within themselves and humaneness at large. They are no longer innocent English school boys who simply wanted to have fun. And finally the last main theme is the Nature of Evil, Golding ( the author) believed everyone had the capacity for inhumanity and evil. After William Golding came back from WO2 he wanted to show the people of England that what happened to the people of Germany could have overcome anybody, even the people of England. In fact, at the beginning of the novel, the main character states:“We've got to have rules and obey them. After all, we're not savages. We're English, and the English are best at everything.” but at the end of the story, they eventually turn into savages. Golding wanted to show that everybody could become evil, even what at first seemed innocent English schoolboys.
