Inventor, hero, and hard worker, are three things that describe William Kamkwamba. Many people know that William Kamkwamba is an inventor for his African village, but he was so much more. As a well known inventor, William Kamkwamba inspired kids to do what they have a dream to be and try to make that goal. He left a lasting legacy as a great well-known kid who invented windmills out tools that he had in front of him.
Early life on William Kamkwamba was really hard for him. First, his parents were hard workers but they were lazy sometimes too, because it’ll probably be the weekend.. He was a man on a mission. He had a handful of cornmeal everyday because he was so determined. William wouldn't stop for anything nor would stop to eat, because wanted show it was purposeful. He used pipes to bring down water to houses. The way he got the water there was he waited for the wind turbines to come so it can build up energy, then get a huge bucket of water, now he would put it down the pipes. For him, he thought it is a great experience for all the audience. He explained his whole life. After eight years, he went to his home town to see all his family, relatives, and friends. “ The best thing that happened in my life was saving Malawi.” (Kamkwamba 270)William was joyous to share his great adventures.
When William returned to Malawi, everybody was happy. Also, the people were telling him how they got so much water back just from the windmills. Going along with that they weren't in a drought anymore as long as they make producing running water. When he all this info he was ecstatic for his achievements.. Continuing today he is still making more. But, he wants to make electricity like we have today. William knows he won't find any tools to make those modern day materials, but he is thinking of buying some though. Also there is enough water for them drink for a month then resupply and also to take showers. Although there isn't any showers. William didn’t care if he was in dirty rags, as long he believes, and nothing can stand in his way of doing things right, he can do whatever he wants.
