William Randolph Hearst William Randolph Hearst is a part of history because of how he was a news mogul and how he further affected how we look at news stories and political cartoons. William Hearst was born in April 29, 1863 in San Francisco to a high class family where he looked up to his father who was also the owner of multiple newspaper agencies. Hearst always looked up to his father and when Hearst got older his father gave him the newspaper company The San Francisco Examiner. William Hearst would begin his start with one newspaper and turn it into multiple news agencies and make millions off information from around the world. Hearst made a big sum of money off of his political cartoons which are still popular today. Hearst was very accurate in what he reported because he sent people out to where these things were happening so he could get proof of it. Some was also fake and was sometimes used to show fear to people who read his newspapers. William Randolph Hearst was prepared to succeed for many reasons. Hearsts father had left him with a large sum of money and with the San Francisco Examiner which was the base of his huge newspaper organisation. He received the best education that his coarse-grained, multimillionaire father and his refined, schoolteacher mother. Hearst sacrificed multiple things to become the news mogul WILLIAM RANDOLPH HEARST 3 that he was known for such as moving to New York for better newspaper companies. Another sacrifice that he took was sending journalists out into the field to get the stories. The most major sacrifice was when William Randolph Hearst's Father Died. Hearst didn't take that very good because he was very close to his father and he was the person who made William who he was today.
