William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564. He had two sisters, but they did not live a long life. He grew up in a small English town called Stratford- Upon-Avon. As a young child, Shakespeare had a passion for language arts. As a result, he started his education in grammar school at age six. As Shakespeare grew older, he taught at a school near Stratford. In 1582, he married Anne Hathaway. They shared many similarities with each other. For example, Anne was a poet and a playwright. One year later, Anne gave birth to her daughter, Susanna.
