Shakespeare's full name is William Shakespeare. He is from Stratford-upon-Avon. Shakespeare was born in 1564 and died in 1616. This essay will explore Shakespeare's early life, his contributions to literature, and his contributions to society.

Shakespeare's parents were John and Mary Shakespeare. Mary's maiden name is Auden. John Shakespeare was a leatherworker who specialized in the soft white leather used for gloves and similar items. John rose through local offices in Stratford as an alderman. When Shakespeare was five, John became the town bailiff, almost like the mayor. In late 1582, Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway.
