Introduction
William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon on the 23rd of April, 1564 and was baptized at three days old at a Holy Trinity Church then died on the exact same day he was born at the age of 52 in 1616 to a fairly wealthy family by the name of John Shakespeare, who was a leather trader and Mary Shakespeare who was an heiress. Shakespeare was renowned for his play-writing, his role as an actor, and his poems. He wrote a large range of plays based on three different themes – comedies, tragedies and histories and was able to write 37 successful plays. Early Life
Shakespeare went to a Grammar School called King’s New School and was given very excellent education with a variety of subjects but continued to focus on the works of literature and grammar. However, he did not attend university because his father had trouble dealing with school finances. Shakespeare later went on and married a woman called Anne Hathaway who was three months pregnant and while she was 26 and he was 18. In 1583 Shakespeare and his wife had their first child, a girl, called Susanna then later in 1585 they had twins called Hamnet and Judith.

In between the years 1590 and 1592 some of his plays such as the Comedy of Errors and Richard III were being performed in theatres then they closed in 1593 because of the Bubonic plague. Later on Shakespeare became the owner of a famous acting company called the Lord Chamberlain’s Men. As he kept working he saved enough money to buy a second house to stay longer with his company.
