Although there is much debate on whether or not William Shakespeare is the true author of his plays, the fact remains that he is the true author. Even if he weren't, it wouldn't change the fact that the plays are still meaningful and should be studied. For this reason, this debate isn’t incredibly important, but it should still be considered in order to reveal truth. A common theory is that the true author of the stories of Shakespeare is Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford. De Vere, however, died in 1604.1 The Tempest, however, is estimated by multiple educational sources including Sparknotes, Encyclopedia Britannica, and Shmoop to have been written between 1610 and 1611.2, 3, 4 If this estimation is correct, there is no way de Vere could have written The Tempest.
Within his lifetime of 52 years, William Shakespeare composed 37 plays 154 sonnets, a rather large number for works so critically acclaimed. Because of this, some people have become skeptical, and they don’t believe that Shakespeare is credible for all of his works. They have come to the conclusion that someone else wrote a portion of those works because there is little proof that he actually wrote them. However, although many conspiracy theories have surfaced about whether or not William Shakespeare wrote his own plays and sonnets, it should be believed that he did, in fact, write all of them because of his extensive interest in grammar and literature, his work had his name and only his name on them, and no one had a doubt that Shakespeare

The website, Biography, states “William Shakespeare, also known as the “Bard of Avon,” is often considered the greatest dramatist of all time.” You can organize his plays into three main genres, tragedy, romantic comedy, and historic. Let's go through each one to get a better understanding. One of the most popular is romantic comedy such as, Romeo and Juliet.
