The Life of William Shakespeare William Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright. He was one of the most influential and skillful writers in the history of literature. He was born to John Shakespeare in a small town, Stratford-Upon-Avon, which was his family home in England (Rothwell 12). His birthday is assumed to be on April 23rd because, according to this period, newborn babies received baptism three days after birth. The historical documents indicate that his baptism occurred on April 26th, 1564. William Shakespeare spent his childhood being raised in his hometown. He had a huge family, consisting of seven siblings: four sisters and three brothers. However, three of his sisters died leaving him with just one. The purpose of this paper is to focus on William’s family life, his career path, his religion, and the impact of his writing work. At the age of seven, Shakespeare and his brothers attended a local grammar school, which lasted all day with no extra curriculum activities. However, at the age of fourteen he was pulled out of school for the unknown reasons (Rothwell 15). When he was eighteen, he impregnated his 26-year old girlfriend, Ann Hathaway, whom he was forced to marry.
