William Shakespeare was a famous poet, playwright, and actor, he was considered one of the greatest play writers, in history. William Shakespeare’s date of birth is uncertain, but it was around the date 23 April 1564 in Stratford-Upon-Avon, United Kingdom. William Shakespeare died on the date 3 May 1616, at the age of 52, also at Stratford-Upon-Avon, United Kingdom. Shakespeare’s parents were John Shakespeare and Mary Shakespeare; they were said to be illiterate. William Shakespeare started his career in 1585, as a play writer and a performer, as well as writing his plays, Shakespeare performed in them. His plays were mostly comedies, histories and tragedies. He retired in 1613, at the age of 49, which was 3 years before his death. …show more content…

Susanna was born six months after Shakespeare and Anne got married. Two years after Susanna was born, the couple had twins, 1 boy and 1 girl, which were Hamnet and Judith. Hamnet died at the age of 11, in 1596, as he contracted the Black Plague. It is believed that none of Shakespeare’s descendants are alive today. Shakespeare wrote an average of 1.5 plays per year and his plays were approximately 2,000 to 4,000 lines long. His longest play was Hamlet, which was approximately 4,042 lines long, with a total of 29,551 words! Some of Shakespeare’s famous plays are Hamlet, Macbeth, Twelfth Night, The Tempest and Romeo and Juliet. After Shakespeare died, Shakespeare’s colleagues made a folio of Shakespeare’s work, it was called “Mr. William Shakespeare's Comedies, Histories, & Tragedies”, it was also known as the First Folio. The folio was released in 1623, with a total of 36 of Shakespeare’s plays. The first folio is worth a lot of money today, due to their only being 234 surviving copies of the original 750 sold. William Shakespeare was significant for many reasons. Some of these reasons include he wrote a total of 38 plays and a total of 154 sonnets, which inspired many movies today,
