“What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” This is a line from Romeo and Juliet. This is one of Shakespeare's most known plays and one of his best known lines ever. William Shakespeare was born in 1564, Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom, he changed the English world, he wrote 37 plays and 154 sonnets. Shakespeare died on April 23,1616, Stratford-upon-Avon. The reason why I am qualified to talk about Shakespeare because of the books I own, the plays I’ve read and the research I have done on him. To begin with, no one exactly knows when William Shakespeare was actually born. With that being said people consider the first few years of his life are “lost years.” They know he was born in 1564 but they do not know the exact date. What people have come close to was being his baptism date which is, April the 26, 1564. By guess work it is assumed he was born three days earlier. William who is also known as the “Bard of Avon,” was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. William had seven siblings: Joan (b 1558, only lived 2 months); Margaret (b 1562); Gilbert (b 1566); another Joan (b 1569); Anne (b 1571); Richard (b 1574) and Edmund (b 1580).
