William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright, and actor. He was known as The Bard of Avon or England’s national poet. He was born in Stratford in 1564. Although his early life is unknown. William Shakespeare’s most known work was between 1589 and 1613. Some of his worked I studied in high school. Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, and The Tempest are a few of my favorite plays. William Shakespeare is one of my favorite authors because his poems and plays show love for nature, and he is very creative with his work. Between the years 1588-1613 he wrote 38 plays. William Shakespeare work is studied in histories, tragedies, and romances. William Shakespeare wrote tragedies after 1600. Some of the tragedies he wrote were Macbeth, Hamlet, King Lear and Othello. In William Shakespeare’s final period, he wrote a few tragicomedies. They are The Tempest, Cymbeline, and The Winter’s Tales. They are not as tragedy as Macbeth because they end in forgiveness. Romeo and Juliet is based on Romeus and Juliet by Arthur Brooke. William Shakespeare did not invent Romeo and Juliet. Many details of William Shakespeare are the same as Arthur Brooke’s poem. Romeo and Juliet was most likely to be written in 1591-1597. The Montague and the Capulet families are long feud. The feud of the families causes tragedy. Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet. They both fail in love and married in secret to prevent their families’ tragedy. The two are forced to die tragically in despair. The Tempest is likely the last play written by William Shakespeare. The Tempest opens in a storm, with the King Alonso of Naples and his people struggle to stay afloat. On land, Prospero and his daughter watch the storm destroy the ship. Prospero has created the storm with magic. Prospero was a Duke if Milan who had been put into the sea to die with his daughter Miranda by his brother Antonio who was in alliance with King Alonso. Caliban believes that Prospero is the ruler of the island. He makes a plan with some of King Alonso’s men to murder Prospero. King Alonso is in disbelief upon seeing Prospero alive. Prospero forgives his brother for all of the sins against him. Plans are made to kill Prospero, but they fail due to magic. Prospero regains his dukedom and everyone leaves the island except
