William Shakespeare The Greatest Writer in the English Language William Shakespeare is considered the greatest writer, poet, philosopher of art, and dramatists. This renowned playwright has had more of his theatrical plays performed than any other playwright in history. Even to this day citizens, movies, books, magazines, and schools reenacted (sometimes with an unique twist) Shakespeare's iconic stories. Shakespeare has created at least 37 plays and a collection of sonnets, at which most were reenacted in the legendary theater called the Globe theater. In this theater, history was made and the English language was transformed.
