He earned his living as an actor and a playwright while he was in London. It is said that for every new play he wrote Shakespeare could have earned £5 to £11. As an actor it has been said his salary could have been up to £100. He was part of the acting company Lords Chamberlain’s men. The acting company later changed their names to The Kings Men after King James took over. The brother of Shakespeare is Cuthbert Burbage who helped build the Globe Theater.
Shakespeare was educated in Stratford-upon-Avon at King Edward VI School. It is said to be that he started school at the age of six or seven at Stratford grammar school.
