William Shakespeare was a very influential poet and playwright in the late 1500’s and into the early 1600’s. Many people consider him to be the greatest writer in the english language. He was born to Mary and John Shakespeare in April of 1564. He was the fourth of eight children born to the shakespeare's, only 5 of which would live to adulthood. William shakespeare has influenced the writings, sayings and way of literature for everyone in the english language. Sayings like “A wild goose chase” (Romeo and Juliet), “eaten out of house and home” (Henry IV part II)and “A heart of gold”(Henry V) All originated from this writer2. He left many great marks in his life. He truly was an extraordinary man.
Many people make is seem like shakespeare was a poor uneducated boy, but this was not exactly true. By the age of 5 he was enrolled in King edward VI school, a grammar school run for the sons of civil servants like John Shakespeare. Classes started at dawn and were help 6 days a week. He wrote the next plays, Henry VI, part II and III the next year, 1592. This work was widely regarded as the weakest of his works, but it did spawn phrases like “Mum’s the word”, “Dead as a doornail” and “give the devil his due”. Some Of his more popular plays were “Hamlet”, “Macbeth”, “A midnight summer's dream” and “Romeo and Juliet” All of which also spawned some of the phrases we still use today, such as “There's a method in my madness”(Hamlet), “Knock KNock! Who's there?”(Macbeth) “Don't waste your love on someone who does not value it” (Romeo and
