You may think that there is no need to even look back at William Shakespeare. In literature he is the most famous play writers in English history. Some of his works are still performed today nearly 4 centuries later. Many writers look up to Shakespeare, but not many of us understand why he and his works are so inspiring to this day.
"William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564 in Stratford, a small English market town located about 100 miles northwest of London. His father, John Shakespeare, was a prominent local citizen who served as an alderman and bailiff. His mother was Mary Arden Shakespeare, after whom William Shakespeare had named the Forest of Arden in the play “As You Like It”. He was enrolled at the Kings New School in Stratford at the age of 4 or 5. In 1594 Shakespeare joined the Lord Chamberlains Men. He had shares in the company, making him a manager and co-owner. The Chamberlains Men performed for the queen in the royal court, but also performed for the middle class public. In 1599 the company finished the construction on the Globe Theatre, where most of Shakespeare’s plays occurred." (Shmoop.com)
