A Relationship in 1984 was between Winston and Julia. Winston first mentions her on page nine. It states, "She was a bold-looking girl of about twenty-seven, with thick dark hair, a freckled face, and swift, athletic movements. Winston had disliked her from the very first moment of seeing her"(Orwell 10). However, Winston 's antagonism towards Julia soon changed. Afterwards, Julia falls in the corridor and Winston helps her up. Julia passes a note to him saying "I love you." Subsequently, they begin getting together, changing the area so there would be a less risk of them getting caught.
