Have you ever been imprisoned by the government and had a death sentence? Kind of a stupid question right? This scenario may not apply to you but in Witch & Wizard The Gift by James Patterson it did. In this book Whit and Whisty continue to try to take down the N.O. . They start out facing a death sentence have to escape and take down the N.O. . Whit is a wizard but does not know any spells. Throughout the book Whit is learning spells and using them to take down the N.O. . “She passes me a folded up square of paper.”Learn it, memorize it, use it to help others.Pass it on and on and on.” I open it and see a crudely drawn musical staff with notes. Celia and Whits relationship has been a very complexed thing ever since the first novel. It seems like the dimensions between them are making it easier for them to communicate. When Whit is trapped in between dimensions it makes it harder to find each other. For example,”Celia!” I yell at the top of my voice. “Celia, its me! Whit! I’m right here.””(Patterson 51). Whit and Celia have a complicated relationship. Considering Celia is dead. She still lives in a different dimension. Its called the Shadowland, its where some dead people live. Whisty has always had The Gift but does not believe that she deserves it. Whisty struggles with this conflict throughout the book. When she realizes that she deserves it she feels as if she has the confidence to do anything with her new abilities.”And I have to run, don’t I? I have to try to escape. My life matters. My Gift matters. So I run. I run as if my brothers life depends on it.”(Patterson 333). When Whisty realizes that she is the one she instantly has a rush of confidence. She has to now save her brother and use her powers to take down the N.O.
