Fame is sometimes attained but not always appreciated. Just like Wolfgang Von Goethe, an author famous for his well renowned publications. Goethe had many life experiences and issues that he used as muses for his works. Some were from heartbreak and others were from personal issues and insecurities. The German author also spent time in several countries, writing and publishing some of his books with inspiration from those experiences. Johann grew up in Frankfurt am Main, Germany with his family, drawing many of his writings from that which gained him great success until his death in 1832. Goethe was born in 1749 to Johann Caspar Goethe and Catharina Elisabeth Textor, citizens of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Goethe was one of several children to the parents, but only one of the two children who survived to adulthood. The other was Cornelia Schlosser, whom he had an incestual infatuation with during younger years (Boyle). Goethe was educated by tutors alongside Cornelia until he was 16. His mother, Katharina Elisabeth Textor was not only the author of several writings which are now found in a book titled Goethe's Mother, Correspondence of Catharine Elizabeth Goethe with Goethe (Leipzig, 1889), but she was the muse of several paintings and books (Flitner). His sister Cornelia, who received the same education as him but stayed inside for a home life instead of studying did not write but she was said to have been the first to see many of his drafts and revisions for works (Boyle). She also wrote letters in French to a friend which have been preserved, so these served as a sort of writing for her as well.
