For the past two years, I have been involved in the Carmax Cares community service month. We provided assistance to the Foster Care Support Foundation in Roswell, Georgia. This organization sends out gently worn closes, shoes and other necessities to support foster care providers in the state of Georgia. We packaged items to be sent out and organized their warehouse inventory. On campus I am an active member of SABAC as well as the Georgia Club.
In high school I have participated in a variety of extracurricular activities. As a freshmen I was a member of marching band. I was treasure and then secretary of the band council. Also, I was tuba section leader and low brass super section leader. As a sophomore I was secretary of SASA, “Students Against Substance Abuse,” and president my junior year.
Of my many volunteer and paid extra-curricular activities, the most important to me is the National Art Honor Society, which extends artistic activities to my community. We organize two school events: the Festival of Trees and the Talent Competition. The Festival of Trees is an event when every school club can choose to donate and decorate a tree that we set up. All of the money raised goes to an organization of our choice. For the last 4 years, we have donated to Street Grace, which benefits the fight against human trafficking, especially in the Metro Atlanta area.
Through my organization, I have earned over 500 hours of community service and was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Bronze Medallion for my continued efforts in giving back to the community. During the summer, I assist
As a student of the DuBois Area High School, I think I have the motivation and academic accomplishments needed to receive the Big 33 Scholarship. My family is also in a tight budget so they can provide for my sister and me. My father currently works at DuBois Logistics as a laborer while my mother works at a Sheetz as a salesperson. I also work at a Sheetz in order to save money for college in the future and any other financial needs. As a student, I participate in many clubs and extracirricular activities to promote myself as a positive leader or influence to others.
I have done countless hours of community service and do not plan on stopping any time soon. I am mainly involved with TCLBAF (Tri-Cities Lady Bulldogs Athletic Foundation) Inc., where our mission is to mentor youth in our community. We expose them to a numerous amount of sports and performing arts opportunities and also assist with their academic needs (tutoring, helping with school work, etc). Being a high school student myself, I deem this organization to be very beneficial. Along with TCLBAF, I’ve volunteered with the AVID department at my school.
Amongst the plethora of extracurricular activities I am active in, The Key club, In regards to the community, has affected me by the greatest margin. Since my sophomore year, Key Club (A community service organization) has involved me in multiple projects ranging from making chew toys for the local animal shelter, to providing goodie bags for the soldiers at Fort Hood. However, it was not until my senior year that I realized how much a small coalition of students affected the community at large. This became apparent after receiving multiple personally written letters from our fire department and churches. Also, I found that football ties the local community together.
Within all these clubs we volunteer in the community throughout the years, like the Chapman Township Haunted House we do for the community every year. In the summer I also participate in the Saint Joe’s Festival, which is held by the church I’m a member of. I usually help run the game stations.
The S.A.D.D chapter attracted over seventy students to the club, and they helped me organize several events within the school, such as
Not only do these clubs recognize academic excellence, they also provide many opportunities for community service. Blood drives, food drives and Operation Christmas Child are only a few of the projects that we participate in throughout the year. I am

The school organizations I’m actively involved in are National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Rio Grande Valley Linking Economics Academic Development (RGV LEAD), and Student Council. These organizations allowed me to improve my communication skills, leadership skills, handle many responsibilities, and manage my time efficiently. This allowed me to require the right skill set to balance my time as well as handle all my responsibilities efficiently. I also partake in multiple sports such as volleyball and basketball. Through these sports, I am taught self-discipline, accountability, and mental toughness.
The club that has allowed me to mature the most was Model United Nations, or MUN. MUN is a club for high school and college students, where they represent a multitude of countries and find solutions for current crises in the world. My junior year
