Oppression has unjustly determined the social and economic status of the oppressed by the oppressor. Some groups are more likely to experience oppression based on race, gender, and class. But resistance, in many forms, can eradicate or lessen the power of the dominant group and give power to those who are oppressed. Some forms of resistance include nonviolent/violent protests and developing power within the oppressed group. The most effective way for the oppressed group to resist oppression is to collectively protest because it brings awareness, gives them power against their oppressors, and enhances networking to gain allies.
