Women of color in prison are treated more unfairly than white women. Women in prison don’t have it easy obviously, but especially women of color. With many coming out with their stories of the racial discrimination treatment from prison staff vs white female prison inmate. Recently in the years the female population goes up as the increase of women of color. It may seem that it just so happen that women of color are treated more unfairly them white women in prison. Over time there is a noticeable pattern showing racial discrimination affecting women of color too. While in prison women of color are treated differently them white women. It may be due to a racial bias going on from the prison staff. With the seemingly growing numbers of color women in prison as two-thirds of the female prison population are women of color. It’s not that simple sadly, but we can improve them instead to give a better justice. One could be to train the officer to racial profiling especially on women of color. We have to start where it begins, and that is when the arrest starts. With all the racial bias going to today, there is no surprise women of color too are suffering. With that in mind, we could make sure that people get a fair trial. And give better treatment by training them to make sure police don’t overdo their force that will cause more resistance. Plus in prison make sure there is no male staff working there. As it is mostly male staff members are guilty of inflicting abuses. With the male staff gone the abuses, women of color will face will go down drastically. Give these women some programs to give them a chance to better their life so the women of color don’t go back to prison. Making sure they have an opportunity to get a good thing ahead of them so they will not be criminals
