Role of women Men and women were both created to complete each other , fulfill each other’s needs .In this epic poem “ Gilgamesh “ , that presents the life time in Mesopotamia , talked about a greedy king searching for immortality . There were different aspects shown like power , greediness and civilization. Women’s job wasn’t just as caring mom , kept at home to cook and raise children , even that in this time she was seen as a property , respect less and worthless . From that, Women were struggling between power and desires . Therefore , it was hard to identify the role of women . Both desires and power are human traits . Nobody would really understand us as our mothers . they are the only one who would guide us through this life , and knows are weaknesses as well as strengths . “Men are what their mothers made them.” Ralph Waldo Emerson , that was very applicable to the relation between Gilgamesh and his mother Ninsun , “the mother of creation “ , who gave him power in indirect way . At first , she gained Gilgamesh the two-thirds as being a god . Second ,she had interpreted his dreams , as she said “dearest child , this bright star from heaven , this huge boulder that you couldn’t left , it stands for a dear friend “ (Gilgamesh.P-85) . In addition that she was a caring mom , who knows her child’s weaknesses. For example, he have a restless heart ; that was the main reason for adapting Enkidu as her child , when she said to him “ I adopt you as my son “ (Gilgamesh. P-201) , to stand by Gilgamesh and equal his strength . and when Gilgamesh and Enkidu went to kill Humbaba , she prayed for her son “ O lord, protect my son , in your grate mercy ,let him to the forest , and then bring him home .” (Gilgamesh.
