The book wonder by R.J Palacio, is about a ten year old kid named August (Auggie) Pullman. He was born with a facial deformity that prevented him from going to school. He's going into fifth grade at Beecher Prep, and him being the new kid going into a new school is hard for him. Auggie is just like us. He's an ordinary kid, just with an extraordinary face. Do you think Auggie's parents made the right decision sending him to school? Auggie got an award. “He is the greatest,” ‘whose strength carries up the most hearts by the attraction of his own.’Without further ado,this year i am very proud to award the Henry Ward Beecher Medal to the student whose quiet strength has carried up the most hearts. “So will August Pullman please come up here to receive this award?” At the end of the year graduation ceremony, August wins an award for being an exemplary student, not just academically but personally as well. Everyone cheers for him, and august finally feels like an ordinary kid even though he knows no one else's sees him that way. …show more content…

August also makes friends with a girl named summer, the only student in the whole school brave enough to sit with him at lunch. I looked up, and a girl i never saw before was standing across from my table with a lunch tray full of food. She had long wavy brown hair,and wore a brown t-shirt with a purple peace sign on
