Woodrow Wilson: The twenty-eighth president of the United States A large part of Woodrow Wilson’s time as president was serving the united states during international situations. One situation was the first world war. He was also known for trying to make peace with other countries. In order to make it safe, he led America into war. He was a democrat who serves for eight year from 1913 to 1921. Woodrow wilson was born on the 28th of December, 1856, at Small Southern town of Staunton, Virginia. The debate between Roosevelt and Wilson was very different. Roosevelt want to put the federal government into business of money based reform, and run the economy and big business through a strong, high tax reform. On the other hand, Wilson want to prevent one company from becoming too powerful. He insist that if big business did not get certain advantages, such as the taxes, the government's role could be smaller because competition would give everyone of an equal chance at success. He also wanted people to be part of league of nation, but that did not go will as he think. He bought back the Treaty of Versailles to the senate, after the paris peace conference, which did not turn out well either. The senate did not accept his idea of the treaty versailles, an agreement between other countries. The united states did not approve it either, because some people believe that their country should not deal with other countries. Other thinks that maybe in the future, will be more worser and terrible without the treaty of Versailles. Even though his health condition is getting worser and suffer from illness, Wilson did not stop to fought for peace. The people had it enough with the war and the fighting that is going on, so they agreed to have peace with other countries. On June 28, 1919 the German and the Allied Nation sign the Treaty of versailles, which Wilson is trying to tell people in the first place, but they did not listen. The nobel peace prize of 1919 goes to Wilson for what he has done to make the world peace as what he always wanted, but he was awarded in 1920.
