Woodrow Wilson was born on December of 1856 and passed in the year of 1924; we remember him as the 28th president of the United who served two terms as president ( A&E Television Networks). During his legacy as president he led the nation during World War I, led negotiations of the Treaty of Versailles, sponsored the League of Nations, and created voting rights for woman. A man who had perceptions of world peace is how he is remembered ( A&E Television Networks). On the greatest presidents who ever lived and deserves a permanent spot on Mr. Frye’s Wall of Fame. Every great man comes from humble beginnings and Woodrow Wilson was born in a small town of Staunton, Virginia. He served two terms as the 28th president from the year 1913-1921 (Freidel and Sidey). President Wilson had passed the Seventeenth amended which allowed the people to vote or senators directly-The amendment a passed on May 31, 1913-prior to the amendment being passed state legislatures would choice our nations senators (Kelly ). Woodrow Wilson is mostly known for leading the United States during our First World War, and for leading the United States in peace talks after the war was coming to an end. America was officially apart of the war when Woodrow Wilson declared war on Germany on April 2, 1917 (SparkNotes LLC). Soon after on April 6 congress declared war, and on April 7, 1917 Woodrow Wilson had signed of on the declaration papers (SparkNotes LLC). The reason for us joining WWI is because of the Zimmerman Telegram. The Zimmerman telegram was a message from the German government to the Mexican government in attempt to get Mexico to attack the United States and form an Alliance with Germany’s government/military
