Did Woodstock represent the culture of the 60’s? Woodstock really did show the opposite of what this era was really like. The 60’s was focused on war and violence but Woodstock represented peace, hippies, and antiwar movements.There have been several different types of movements that have happened throughout time. Some of these movements didn’t mean anything and others contributed a lot and really showed what times were like during this era. One “peace” concert was Woodstock in 1969. Woodstock reflected a lot about the culture of America in 1969. It took everything that was happening during this time period and showed what was going on just during the three day concert. Some of these things that came out of Woodstock was how men and women had new styles. For an example they had longer hair, and wore flamboyant clothes and clothes rather than what they wore beforehand. One thing about men was during the time at Woodstock beards and mustaches became a normal thing to them. These are just some small changes compared to how many groups formed wanting peace and no war. These groups who formed would show up and protest war. One of the biggest protests was with 10,000 people surrounding a convention center where democrats were supposed to be holding a convention. They stood outside protesting the Vietnam war these protests were not peaceful tho they were violent which would eventually tarnish the name of these protesters. From these protesters many other groups started to form to protest the Vietnam war. The presidential candidates took what was going on around them into consideration using what was happening to get votes from the people so they could become president. Eventually the days of Woodstock were just a mere speck of light in the universe but the styles that came from it and groups of people protesting the Vietnam war came from
