Woodwinds Health Campus in Woodbury, Minnesota is a hospital that has 86 beds (Woodwinds Health Campus website, 2015). Woodwinds boasts about providing convenient, comprehensive, and quality health care for the community. They take pride in being known for paying attention to detail and attention to patients. Woodwinds was named one of the 100 Great Community Hospital for 2015 by Becker’s Hospital Review. Hospitals that receive this honor are selected based on rakings from Truven Health Analytics, Healthgrades, and Carechex. This hospital has also received Outstanding Patient Experience Award from Healthgrades for the last three years. These awards are proof that they are living up to their Compassionate Service promise which is “Exceeding Customers’ expectations through caring compassionate service is our privilege and our promise,” (Woodwinds Health Campus website, 2015) …show more content…

Woodwinds also has a holistic care model whose values include compassionate service, ethical practice, meaningful collaboration, and human potential. They also have a set of guiding principles which included; encouraging and supporting involvement in ones own care, creating and sustaining a healing environment, and willingness to challenge the status quo by applying innovative thinking and implementing change (Woodwinds Health Campus website, 2015). This mission statement and guiding principles to me model what a professional nursing practice is and how I want to be as a nurse. It is important to me to offer compassionate service, ethical practice, be able to collaborate with client and other healthcare professionals. I want to work in an environment that will challenge the status quo, apply innovative thinking and uses holistic care
