There was always a quiet expectation in my family that I would eventually attend Madison. Mentioning other colleges was often met with an eye roll and a semi-serious assertion that I was going to Wisconsin. With three of my siblings as well as numerous cousins and family friends attending, it was fairly predictable that I was going to apply to Madison also. I ignored them and decided to research which colleges would fit me the best, not which college the Woolley’s historically have attended. Maybe it was an ironic twist of fate, or maybe a clear hereditary predisposition that Madison would end up being the school that fits my interests best.
