At staffing meetings I am aware that all people have a voice and that this is to be encouraged and respected. I understand that it is important to actively listen to different points of view and in negotiating outcomes as an employee. I have received training of one month in OHS during my Australian Public Service placement training with Capital Careers limited. I have also been well trained in OHS throughout my tertiary education studies in medical science on how to be aware of the following: lifting heavy things, fire safety, security safety, emergence safety and handling safety. I therefore aim to ensure that I work according to the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. For instance, in my previous job with the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) I identified a hazard one evening after 5 pm: the OMA`s security door was broken and I told my work colleagues that the security door is broken.
