With the millions of people living through unemployment and low food security, this populated group are what society would consider as “living in poverty”. The amount as stated is a problem as it can still increase, causing more innocent bystander to be in this category. Poverty’s literal meaning, known to many, is for one to be in a state of being extremely poor and lacks to own daily necessities. This problem has affected people of all ages; whether they are young or old, poverty shows no mercy. As this is a globally known mission to be fix on, supporter has started to work their way against this obstacle. One global problem is world hunger. The world capable of producing enough food to feed close to seven billion people, but those who go hungry either do not have land to grow food or money to purchase it (“11 Facts About…”). Although being in hunger is important to the many health issue it can cause, hunger ties in with poverty. If extreme poverty is to be ridden free of, then world hunger will also not be a problem. Another global problem is the lack of education. Research conducted at the University of Colorado found that people are more of a risk to long manual hours, bad mental health and a poor diet if they left school without certifying from a secondary school (“Lack Of Education…”). With this being said, having a education can mark a person whether they may be successful or not in life. Similar to world hunger, this problem also ties in with poverty as it may cause the reason why people can not afford a proper education. In the United Kingdom, thirty to forty percent of the food never gets eaten and usually results in them being thrown away which is equivalent to thirty-eight billion dollars (“Causes Of Hunger…”). People often forget the fact that there are people out there who is not fortunate enough to even obtain minimum daily harvest. Not only do the food gets wasted, the money used to produce becomes irrelevant. As stated before, the world is capable of producing enough food for everyone in the world but the problem is how to gain access to it. Companies produce items for people to buy just for the benefit of themselves and not for the sake of others. Richard H. Robbins backs this opinion for which he stated,“Food is a commodity. If one does not have the money to buy food, no one is going to grow it for them.” (“Readings On Hunger…”) From this, people are affected by a problem known as stunting. Not only does one gets physically stunted due to insufficient nutrient intake, it also stunts a growing brain. Those that suffer from mental stunting develop problems such as asthma, attention deficit disorders and low academic performance (“How Poverty Stunts…”). Considering this, poverty not only is a main problem itself, it leads a chain of reaction to other
