Analys of mental health initiatives in Australia allows to assume the global importance of mental care activities. “Mental health and mental illnesses are determined by multiple and interacting social, psychological, and biological factors, just as they generally are in health and illness”, ABS states (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2008). These factors and possibilities to counteract them are the questions to discuss within the framework of World Mental Health Day and other events.

Mental illness affects one in five Australians and it is difficult to exxagerate the effect of the problem and the relevance of Mental Health Week. “Depression, anxiety and sleep disturbance were the three mental health-related problems most frequently managed by GPs in 2012–13; these three problems accounted for 60% of all mental health-related problems managed”, Garvan Research Foundation found (15). The initiative got approval and gain recognition not only among professionals but among ordinary people too. It became the mass event because its goals are valuable for society. Health-care workers, psycologists, social workers, and other professionals participate in the event, a lot of people come from abroad to attend WMHD. Every year the Mental Health Week has a common topic. The theme of last year’s World Mental Health Day, observed on 10 October, covered “psychological first aid”. “Although psychological first aid is a term that has been used since the 1940s, it has become more widely known over the last 15 years”, WHO reports (2016). Psychological aid is not a simple when something terrible happens in life. And it may be even more complex to receive psychological aid if there is not such a place or event where mental health problem-solving is being discussed.

Government agencies are likely to invest their money and legislation power, Non-government Agencies provides professional regulations to mental health sector and facilitate professional care workers do their job. Both government and non-government agencies address mental health in Australia, promote the spread of education, knowledge, and health. Unless these organiations, access of people to professional services in mental care could be obstructed. The mental health sector submit to agencies ' rules, get their support and assistance.
