Over the course of World War II many countries were stretched financially, militarily and economically. Large amounts of resources and money went into funding war operations that stretched from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic in the largest display of combat this world has ever seen. Many countries that found themselves ruled by a circle of influence from foreign power were now under less scrutiny and presence by foreign entities because of stretched military and power. One of the countries that took advantage of this lack of foreign control was Western India later named Pakistan which was controlled by Great Britain. This combined with political pressure from the Muslim League and the Hindu Indian dominance, revolution was obviously on the horizon. They could not upkeep their control of the textile industries in these areas and the colony of India became more of a liability than an asset because of the uprisings between Hindu and Muslim populations. Negotiations were set and finally Britain split up India and Pakistan into two separate sovereign nations. This gave power to the Muslim League making them the predominant political party in Pakistan and all of its provinces. Territorial disputes were fought between the two new nations and freedom was forged in blood. Prime Minister of Pakistan Liaquat Ali Khan negotiated with Indian government to set down the groundwork for territorial rights which failed in 1951 when Liaquat Ali Khan was assassinated.
