Do you know about the holocaust? In the book, Night, by Ellie Weisel there were many terrible things that happened. Among these terrible things were the loss of many innocent people, Jews were separated from their family and undiagnosed PTSD from the few survivors. In the story many people were separated and some put into gas chambers and suffocated. They were mostly transported in cattle cars that were extremely crowded.
Prisoners were starved, beaten, and forced to witness horrific scenes. After being forced to work all day, the only food prisoners would receive was a small bowl of thin soup and maybe a piece of bread. Many died from the combination of starvation and exhaustion before they could be executed. Upon arriving at his first camp, Wiesel comments about how the first thing he notices is the stench of burning flesh. He States, “Never shall I forget that night, the first night in the camp, which would turn my life into one long night, seven times cursed and seven times sealed.

Hitler was their leader and he wanted the perfect Aryan race. So he took the disabled, Jewish, and mentally impaired and put them in camps, demoralizing them and killing them. They were treated as sub-humans.
Out of the two world wars, World War II is known to be the bloodiest and brutal war. The main reason this is to believed is because to the Holocaust. The Holocaust was the time period where many were persecuted for their beliefs and race. Hitler is who is to blame for the Holocaust, he is the one who organized all the horrific things done to the people who did not fall under his Master Race. Despite the many theories about the purpose of the Holocaust, the real purpose make those who weren’t members of the Master Race fear the Nazi Regime, to force them to obey the Nazi’s without question.
The Holocaust. A horrific crime that will live forever in infamy. More so than December 7, 1941, for it was not one day, one month, or even one year. It was far worse. It was years of built up racist hate and blind confusion unleashed in a devastating manner.

During the Holocaust, the people that were not immediately executed were put into concentration camps. During the peoples’ time in the camps, their faith in Judaism was tested as some had an even deeper faith in their religion, meanwhile others lost all faith in God for allowing such things to happen to human beings. Richard L. Rubenstein wrote about how the people in the world lost faith in God and questioned religion as a whole.
People who made it out of the holocaust may have survived, but at what cost. Survivors were left with horrors of their pasts and scars on their bodies that are daily reminders of what they have been through. In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, Elie talks about his personal experience while at the concentration camps. He includes all the horrors he went through and how dehumanized he felt. We would have never of had a detailed image about the Holocaust if it wasn’t for man named Elie Wiesel.
World War II is said to be the worst conflict in human history. About fifty to eighty million people died all together. There were concentration camps run by the Germans and there were essentially two wars raging. The two wars were the war in Europe and the war in the Pacific, which was Japan against the United States. World War II went on for six years and would destroy more land and property around the world and kill more people than any other war before.
