When visiting an airport, we should be prepared to undergo an intense security check to assure we have a safe flight from start to finish. Transportation Security Officers are now more attentive during security checks. Traveling passengers are expected to respect and obey any instructions given by a Transportation Security Officers. Some people travel for business, others for pleasure, but no matter our purpose for traveling, we all have in common one thing, to have a safe flight. After 9/11, airplanes and airports have become a popular target for terrorist attacks since they are filled with passengers of all ages. Which is why today security check at airports are now stricter and more intensive than ever. Stricker security at airports not only provides safety to passengers, but also to airport employees. I currently work at the Miami International Airport, and I feel safe going to work every day. The safety I feel at work, should be felt by everyone, whether it is a passenger or an employee like myself.
Airport security today in general is more aggressive during passenger security clearance when boarding a plane. Today nearly 51,000 Transportation Security Officers, serve on the front lines at more than 450 U.S. airports. All checked and carry-on baggage are checked for explosives. Several screening methods are now also being used using security checks at Airports. Screening technology and tap-down screening are now a common routine during a security checks at airports.
