Georgia , a country located in between Europe and Asia. The labor force/economic activities in Georgia consist of 55.6% of population being involved in agriculture , 8.9% in industry, 35.5 % involved in services. Out of all the land in Georgia approximately 43% of it is identified as agricultural land. Once again from the total agricultural land about 27% is arable lands. Pastures, being the largest of the agricultural land make 59% of agricultural land.Crops that are not temporarily are grown on 9% of the agricultural land. Meadows on the other hand utilize around 5% of the total agricultural land. Since grapes and nuts are being grown here then the bio climate zone is a mediterranean climate. For Georgia nuts are cash crops and are part of its commercial farming industry. The rural areas are located in the eastern part of Georgia because of the climate there (mediterranean). Grain is the majority crop grown there and the second is grapes because of Georgia's successful winemaking. Georgia has the world's most oldest and skillful winemaking traditions. A discussion going on in Georgia right now is about when Winemaking first dated back to ever since the discovery of a jar back in November. In my opinion the Green Revolution has sort of already came to Georgia since they use fertilizers but not GMOs. A law in Georgia passed which made it illegal to import Genetically modified food therefore farmers tend to stay away from GMOs. an article that is 8,000 years old and was a wine making jar. “Scientists say 8,000-year-old pottery fragments have revealed the earliest evidence of grape wine-making”.
